If you have a plan to go backpacking in europe, the most epic place you need to visit is the West Highland Way. It's location is at Scotland. The West Highland way is a linear long distance footpath, that running from Milngavie north of Glasgow (about 30 minute from Glasgow Airport) to Fort William in the Scottish Highland. The landmark of this long route trail is full of hill walking, and it is 154.5 km long. About 85,000 people use the path every year, of whom over 30,000 walk the entire route. At the end of the hike in Fort William, a historic steam train called the Jacobite (otherwise known as the Hogwarts Express Train for its role in the Harry Potter) transports guests in old fashioned splendor to the ferry town of Mallaig and back, an 84 mile startingly scenic reound trip.
